What this calculator does
It multiplies four numbers that you type in. That is all. We do not know your business, so we do not guess for you. There is no industry average behind it and no hidden figure.
The sum is simple. Enquiries after hours, times the share nobody answered, times the share that would have become a job, times what one job is worth. You see each step on the page.
How to get honest numbers
- After-hours enquiries. Open WhatsApp and count last week. Only messages that arrived once you were closed or busy.
- Unanswered. Count the ones with no reply before the next morning. Be strict with yourself.
- Would have booked. Look at enquiries you did answer quickly. How many became a job? Use that, or something lower.
- Job value. Use what you take on an ordinary job, after any discount.
If a number feels like wishful thinking, lower it. A small result you believe is more use than a big one you do not.
What to do with the result
Look at the weekly figure first. Ask whether it is worth fifteen minutes of your evening. If it is, start with the smallest fix: a short reply that goes out while you are closed. Where do the numbers come from?
From you. We put no averages, no industry figures and no starting values in the boxes. If you leave a box empty, the calculator shows nothing.
Is the result a fact about my business?
No. It is your own guesses multiplied together. If your guesses are wrong, the answer is wrong. Use cautious numbers and treat the result as a rough size, not a forecast.
Do you store or send what I type?
No. The sum runs in your browser. Nothing is sent to us, and nothing is saved on your device either. Close the tab and it is gone.
How do I know what share of messages go unanswered?
Scroll back through last week in WhatsApp. Count the messages that came in after you closed. Then count how many got a reply before the next morning. The gap is your number.
What if I answer everything the next morning?
Then the second box is about speed, not silence. Count a message as unanswered if the customer probably asked someone else in the meantime. Only you can judge that.
Why use 52 weeks for the year?
It keeps the sum simple: your weekly figure times 52. If you close for a month, or your weeks vary a lot, work out a cautious average week first.
